On your marks, get set, go!
BAS Associates started in our family home in Aston Clinton in 2001 and we worked out of the living room, specialising in supporting sole traders, limited companies, partnerships, and individuals with all their tax and accounting needs.
Over time we outgrew the space and built a wooden cabin in our back garden.
After several years we outgrew that space too and needed to also accommodate some additional team members.
Fish & Chips
This is when we found our Northchurch office (near Berkhamsted) the location and space was perfect, and we moved in 2015. We were really settled in Northchurch, and we quickly made very good friends with the owners of the coffee & cake shop across the road and the fish & chip shop owner next door!
Time to expand
In 2018 we expanded our services to support clients with Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) and Probate (and we now have a team of two people to support clients with these services).
In 2019 we started supporting clients with their business growth with our internal business consultant.
This gave clients support clients in growing and developing their business. Our services include business planning, business coaching, marketing strategy, start-up support and bespoke development workshops (such as business strategy, core value development, organisational restructure etc.).
This meant clients could now start to get professional business support alongside financial understanding.
In 2020 an opportunity arose for us to acquire a local accounting firm based in Wingrave, Humphrey & Co. The owner at the time was looking to change their career ahead of the upcoming MTD changes (honestly, we think every accountant has considered this!).
We knew from the moment we walked through the door the fit was right the clients were very similar to our existing clients; the team members shared our values, and the owner was so easy to talk to.
So, before we knew it, we had two office locations (one in Northchurch and one in Wingrave), clients in Herts, Beds, Bucks and beyond, and our team had grown to 11 people!
When 2 become 1
After a year of operating two offices, we decided to start looking for an opportunity to bring the team together. After a couple of months looking, we noticed an office on the same site as our existing Wingrave office had become vacant. Before we knew it our excellent landlord had a new lease drawn up for us.
Our new home
In May 2022, we opened the doors to what we hope will be our long-term home. We love our new offices in Wingrave. Our team are together, its easy for clients to find, we have plenty of parking (and electric vehicle charging points) and we have space to grow!
Now we’re all settled in our offices, our team are fully focused on delivering our accountancy, tax and business development services to our clients and prospective clients whether they are 5 metres away or 5,000 miles to us our clients are an extension of our BAS family.
